Leona Lewis - covers Snow Patrol and goes HUGER!
So I always loved Snow Patrol in their earlier days. I mean really...how can you not love 'Run', that shit will make you cry.
Anyways, apparently in the UK they love Leona Lewis, and now they love her even more after releasing a cover of Snow Patrol's 'Run'. I'm pretty sure she is that girl you hear on the radio singing about bleeding over and over and over. So yeah...she now has the fastest selling digital only track ever in the UK.
Which one do you like better? Leona is definitely easier on the eyes - but Snow Patrol killed it with this song originally....both below for your review!

I pick Snow Patrol...that girl can sing, don't get me wrong. But I'm not letting those smoke machines and pretty dress change my vote.

Kermit The Frog - NIN/LCD Soundsystem
Jokes.
Fresh.
So I tried to link the video by LCD Soundsystem "New York, I love you but you're bringing me down", but apparently EMI has issues with peeps peeping it...so instead I am posting my fav LCD song "All my friends"...c-c-check it! It keeps me running @ the gym yo.

Kanye West...I feel like I heard this before?
Ever wonder why every Kanye West song is a hit and sounds so dope? Some people look down on this music form as straight up plagiarism...what do you think?
I think I like it...I like it alot (Forrest Gump voice)!

Broken Social Scene...I picked the wrong night ugh
So I saw BSS at Sound Academy last Thursday. Show was awesome...but I wish I had tickets for the Friday show. The Thursday show had Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse show up and play a song with the band...and then the next night they do it again...and Isaac PLUS Emily Haines show up!!! Geez louise. Here is BSS feat. Isaac and Emily playing 'The World At Large'. Ugh!
Emily with BSS 'Anthems for a seventeen year old girl. Ugh.
BSS playing 'Looks just like the sun'.
Hopefully next Friday I attend the best 1 out of 3 Stars shows LOL

Counting Crows
My favourite band as already stated. ..Here they are back in September, playing the classic 'Rain King' and producing an epic version with tour support 'Augustana'...Counting Crows live show was one of the things that put them over the top for me....simply brilliant EVERY time.

Broken Social Scene - Sound Academy
I saw BSS last night at Sound Academy. Let me start by saying...I DISLIKE Sound Academy. As a venue I just think it sucks...I could insert a few reason but really...why bother?
Broken Social Scene was awesome as usual, but not a spectacular show by them...like the show a couple years ago on Olympic Island.
Oh well....still heart them.

Learning
I am gonna try and use this space to promote new learnings for myself...good idea huh!?
So I know about this site, have visited this site more frequently recently...time to learn how to use it effectively...I think there is alot you can do with it!
http://hypem.com
It's called the Hype Machine. It's a music site...good. It has all kinds of cutting edge tracks and artists...good. Now...I just need to figure out how it works. Shouldn't take long, and then I'll report back on my findings...fingers crossed this tool is wicked, AND I can somehow implement it into my BLOG.
Ryan Adams
My favourite rock artist of all time. It used to be Counting Crows, and in retrospect they will always be my 'favourite' band...but nowadays I can listen to Ryan Adams over and over and over...obviously if you know me there are a million other bands I'm listening too...but Ryan sticks out!
Previously Ryan was going down a rough road in his life...alcohol, drugs...this video is what he started to look like....very gruff and secretive.
Ryan Adams & The Cardinals - Let it ride (Letterman)
And a few years later...all cleaned up and promoting their new album 'Cardinology'.
Here he is in 2008:
Ryan Adams & The Cardinals - Fix it
Ryan Adams has many different albums, under many different names...Whiskeytown, Ryan Adams, Ryan Adams & The Cardinals. I challenge you to go out and listen/buy some of his albums. It will change your life...well ok...at least your listening patterns.
I get to go see him and the Cardinals open for Oasis in London Ontario soon Dec 15, 2008 to be exact...so stoked!
Everyday Checklist:
- GYM
- Winter Tires
- Oil Change
- Drink
Simple really...

One Million Acts of Green
Ok, so I was in charge of strategically managing the site build of http://www.onemillionactsofgreen.com
This website is a challenge to Canadians to commit to 1 million acts of green. ie. use more energy efficient lightbulbs rather than the old school bulbs, or turn the water off when you brush your teeth. It was a partnership between Cisco, CBC, Deloitte, and Ogilvy. My company Empirical designed it and built all of the code and such.
It was a pretty challenging project, but I really like the way it turned out. We are about a month and a half into the program and already at 30%. Check it out and let me know what you think, all comments welcome...
It's green, it's mean! Go do your part!!!!
